Local Area Information

The cottage is on the outskirts of Chippenham market town, near the village of Kington Langley - a pretty Wiltshire village with a lovely church and children's play area, all within easy reach of the iconic World Heritage City of Bath (around 35 mins drive or easy train ride away) The stunning villages of the Cotswolds, such as Castle Combe and Lacock are within 20 minutes drive away. Castle Combe has won "most beautiful village in the UK" several times. 
Spinners Well is located on a short private lane (Sutton Road) just off the B4069 on the outskirts of the village - with its easy access to the M4 and Chippenham.
We don't have a pub or shop in the village but there are good pubs a short drive away. There is also a 24 hour shop close by, as well as large supermarkets and Allington Farmshop with deli, butchers and cafe all within easy reach.

There is plenty of useful information about places to eat, shop and walk in the property folder. Other places to visit a little further afield, include Longleat Safari Park, Avebury stone circle, Stonehenge and several stunning National Trust properties such as Stourhead and Great Chalfield.
Our local pubs - the Langley Tap and Wellesley Arms are popular, so we do recommend booking in advance.
There are footpaths which run directly from the cottage, so walking is easy if you want to leave the car behind. You can walk to the Wellesley Arms across local farmland (around 30 minutes walk) so a good option for lunch
If you are attending a wedding or event at Kin House, we are just a few minutes away - there is a footpath that takes around 10 minutes but you would need a change of shoes as it can get muddy! (the main road to Kin House is not recommended for walking)

A car is best to explore the area as it is rural.

There is also a railway station in Chippenham (15 minutes away) which is very handy - with easy parking and fast trains to Bath, Bristol and London (Paddington Station).
We do not yet have electric charging for cars but there are 5 x superfast charging points at Chippenham Pit Stop - a services just up the road (around 8 minutes drive away) with a cafe while you wait
